I bring 22 years’ experience with multiple actual events and exercises to my exercise support role. Effective Exercise Support includes the following elements:

  • Exercise planning: Any or all of the following elements.
    • Review of previous exercise JIC and Liaison lessons learned
    • Establishment of exercise communication objectives
    • Development of JIC and Liaison injects to test to objectives
  • Exercise preparation: Joint Information Center or Liaison training.
    • Preparing you and your communication team to work well with other exercise participants through specific training modules
      • Initial communication actions to establish a pre-JIC information flow
      • JIC overview training for all participants
      • Key function training for all participants
      • JIC Position training for your communication leaders
      • JIC Stand-down and Recovery Communication training
  • Exercise participation: I join you at the exercise where I can provide support, coaching or even take on key response roles for you and your team.
    • Coach you in your PIO, APIO or support role within the JIC
    • Spot-train your on-location team members
    • Support other JIC players in effective communication practices
    • Staff Truth/Control to deliver injects and rate responses
  • Post-Exercise services: To maximize the effectiveness of your investment in attending exercises, I can perform the following actions to enhance your future effectiveness.
    • Evaluating your overall Exercise performance against objectives
    • Review Exercise Hot Wash
    • Creating improvement plan for implementation by your team
    • Post-exercise training sessions to address identified needs
